MAYVILLE, N.Y. – Carmelo Hernandez, the Director of Community Mental Hygiene Services and the Commissioner of Social Services for Chautauqua County, NY, is excited to encourage the community to check out New York State’s recent mental health initiative, Be Well NY (bewell.ny.gov), designed to enhance access to mental health care and resources for residents across the state.

This initiative is part of New York State’s ongoing commitment to improving mental wellness and ensuring that all individuals have access to the care they need.

“I am pleased to share that Chautauqua County residents now have another layer of mental health support available to them through the Be Well NY initiative,” said Carmelo. “This program will offer critical resources that help remove the barriers to care, providing people with the tools they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives.”

The Be Well NY website provides an easy-to-use platform where individuals can find information aimed at managing stress and addressing trauma. The site also highlights access to 24/7 National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, 988. For more information about the Be Well NY initiative and how to access these services, visit https://bewell.ny.gov.
