Seniors looking for senior specific housing options have many choices in Chautauqua County. The independent housing units listed below are specific to seniors or people with disabilities and some are subsidized by HUD so individuals pay according to their income. Adult Homes, Assisted Living, and ALP facilities usually have a variety of services for people who need a little more help but not a nursing home. The help could be meals, medication management, and other daily tasks. ALP or Assisted Living Placement is a Medicaid designation meaning that Medicaid will pay for this type of assisted living if you are eligible.

Home Repairs & Handicap Access: 

People trying to stay in their own homes may need to make changes for safety and handicap accessibility as they age. Office for the Aging works with CHRIC, Jamestown Housing Authority, USDA, local contractors, and private donors to meet the need of seniors, veterans and disabled who need emergency repairs or handicap renovations. Funds are limited but we work very closely with all the available resources to help as many people as we can each year. Getting on a list is helpful to show the number of people in need which is necessary when applying for housing rehab grants.
