DUNKIRK, N.Y. – In preparation for the development of its 2024 Work Plan, the Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG) invites municipalities, nonprofits, academic institutions, economic development organizations, and community organizations to apply for support for projects that seek to enhance economic revitalization and long-term strategic investment throughout Chautauqua County.
“Over the past two years, we’ve supported numerous high priority projects designed to spur economic development within Chautauqua County,” said Mark Geise, Deputy County Executive for Economic Development. “These collaborative partnerships have demonstrated their effectiveness in fostering shared prosperity, and we are pleased to once again support projects that will build on the momentum we are generating across the county.”
CCPEG will offer resources for select projects identified as having potential for transformational county-wide impacts. Support could include technical assistance, match requirements for local, state, or federal grants being used for projects that align with the Chautauqua County Economic Development Strategic Plan, or other projects that enhance or leverage previous investment in economic development within Chautauqua County.
Grant awards typically range between $10,000 and $20,000, and requests of up to $50,000 will be considered.
Some projects that have received funding previously include the Chamber of Commerce’s ShopLocalCHQ program, which includes a gift card program, online marketplace, and pop-up/pop-in retail store as part of an effort to drive local foot traffic and encourage residents and visitors to support local businesses; the Dream It Do It Tech Career Initiative, which guides students on the pathway toward a manufacturing career; the addition of a kayak launch by the Cassadaga Lakes Association; and the Village of Westfield’s First Impressions project, undertaking streetscape enhancements in Downtown Westfield to attract new residents, businesses, and visitors. These projects each received $10,000 from CCPEG, with a total project cost for all four of $345,800.
An online informational meeting will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 1-2pm. Participants will be given an overview of the program, as well as an opportunity to ask questions.
