Chautauqua County Suicide Prevention Alliance Urges the Community that Help is Always Available

MAYVILLE, N.Y. –  In light of the recent heartbreaking event at Niagara Falls, the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County extends its deepest sympathies to those affected and urges everyone in our community to remember that help is always available. Support can be a phone call away.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. The Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 provides confidential, 24/7 support. Additionally, if you need immediate assistance, you can request a Mobile Crisis Team through 988. These trained professionals are available to meet face-to-face, helping to stabilize crisis situations and connect you with ongoing resources.

"Monday's tragic event is a heartbreaking reminder that many people are silently struggling. If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed, please know that help is here, and you don’t have to face it alone," said Carri Raynor, Director of the Suicide Prevention Alliance. "During difficult times like this, it’s also important to take care of ourselves by limiting media exposure and focusing on support and connection. Together, we can create hope and offer a lifeline to those who need it.”
