Jamestown Man Sentenced In Gas Station Robbery Case

MAYVILLE, NY – A 33-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday in connection with the robbery of a Jamestown gas station.

Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced that James Hayes was sentenced by Judge David Foley to 5 years in state prison plus 5 years post-release supervision after being convicted of Robbery in the 2nd Degree, a class D felony.

The Jamestown, NY resident was arrested for Robbery 1st, a B violent felony,  Grand Larceny 2nd, a C felony, and Menacing 2nd, an A misdemeanor, on July 31, 2023 by Jamestown Police after robbing a Kwik Fill on Fluvanna Ave and pointing an apparent hand gun at the store clerk.

Mr. Hayes pled guilty to the lesser charge of Robbery 2nd in September.
