Eric Vangiesen, age 38, of Jamestown, was sentenced today, August 5th, by Judge David Foley to a determinate sentence in state prison for 5.5 years with 2 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and a Violation of Probation, this sentenced is to run concurrently to each other.
Mr. Vangiesen was sentenced to a 5 year term of Probation after being convicted of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree in April 2023.
In September 2023, the Chautauqua County Office of Probation filed a violation of probation on Mr. Vangiesen for failing to comply with multiple terms of his probation.
While being prosecuted for the violation of probation, Mr. Vangiesen was indicted and arraigned on the charge of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, a class A-II felony, in April 2024.
In June 22024, Mr. Vangiesen, pled guilty to the lesser charge of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and the Violation of Probation.
