Homeless Man Arraigned on First-Degree Arson Charges for Fulton Street Fire in Jamestown

Eric Courtier, age 34, homeless, was arraigned August 1, 2024, after he was indicted by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury of Arson in the First Degree, a class A-1 violent felony, and Arson in the Second Degree, a class B violent felony.

It is alleged that the Mr. Courtier, started a fire at 234 Fulton Street in the City of Jamestown and caused serious injuries to the victim, also homeless, who was sleeping upstairs.

There was significant damage to the building, a condemned house that was under the authority of the Jamestown Department of Development.

Mr. Courtier is presumed innocent until proven guilty. This case is scheduled for a conference on August 26, 2024 in Chautauqua County Court.
