Endicott Woman Sentenced to 1.5-3 Years for Assaulting Corrections Officer

On Thursday August 1st, Amanda Diaz, age 39, of Endicott, NY, was sentenced by Judge David Foley to an indeterminate state prison sentence of 1.5 to 3 years after being convicted of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, a class E felony, after she assaulted a Corrections Officer while confined in the Lakeview Shock Incarceration Facility.

In June 2022, Ms. Diaz assaulted a corrections officer while confined to Lakeview Shock in Brocton on an unrelated matter.

DA Jason Schmidt would like to thank the New York State Police and the Lakeview Shock staff, in particular, the Corrections Officers who oversee the facility, for the their hard work and dedication.

"An assault on any person is bad enough, but any attack on the men and women who serve our community and put themselves in harm’s way to protect the rest of us is terrible and egregious. I hope this conviction sends a message to the community that these types of crimes will not be tolerated in Chautauqua County," said Schmidt.
