VIDEO: 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

MAYVILLE, NY – A 9/11 remembrance ceremony honoring victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks took place on Monday in Chautauqua County.

The local American Legion hosted the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, September 11, 2023 at noon in front of the Chautauqua County Courthouse, 1 N. Erie St. in Mayville, NY.

Featuring a few words from local dignitaries, a moment of silence and 21 gun salute, this program honored and remembered the over 3,000 Americans who were killed on September 11, 2001 when members of the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four planes and crashed them in the World Trade Center in New York City, the pentagon just outside of Washington, D.C., and a field in Western Pennsylvania.
