MAYVILLE, N.Y.:-- Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel has announced temporary changes to county operations at the Hall R. Clothier (HRC) Building located at 7 N. Erie St. in Mayville, N.Y.

Due to a water main break that occurred at the HRC Building, the second, third and fourth floors of the building will be closed to the public through November 5, 2022. This closure only impacts the Public Health, Environmental Health and Social Services Divisions of the Department of Health and Human Services.

No water samples will be accepted.

County operations located on the first and basement floors of the HRC Building, which include the Office for Aging Services, Public Defender’s Office, Board of Elections, and Department of Motor Vehicles are not impacted by this closure and will remain open to the public.

Residents are also reminded that early voting is still taking place at the Board of Elections Office this week.

“We appreciate our staff and clients patience and understanding as we work feverishly to assess and address the water damage in the building,” said Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel. “Should these changes need to be extended beyond this week, we will keep the public and our staff informed.”

All county staff at the HRC building are to report to work on November 3, 2022 as normal unless otherwise told by their supervisor.
