CELORON, NY – Chautauqua County Executive Paul M. Wendel Jr. invites you to the Chautauqua Lake Symposium, a pivotal event aimed at fostering collaboration and sharing scientific insights to enhance the health and sustainability of Chautauqua Lake.
We are honored to host an impressive lineup of distinguished speakers, including Julie Barrett O'Neill and Chad Staniszewski from the NYSDEC Region 9, Bonnie Lockwood, Governor Kathy Hochul’s WNY Regional Director, Senator George Borrello, Assemblyman Andrew Goodell, Dr. Allison Hrycik from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Jefferson Project, Dr. Harry Kolar from the Jefferson Project, LtCol Paul Lord from SUNY Oneonta, Dr. Richardson from North Carolina State University, and Dr. Marion Divers from the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
The Chautauqua Lake Symposium, themed "Strength in Unity: Advancing Chautauqua Lake Together," is dedicated to fostering collaboration and sharing essential scientific data and insights. The event will feature informative presentations, engaging discussions, and an interactive Q&A session with attendees.
The symposium will take place on June 2, 2024, with a meet-and-greet starting at 8:30 a.m. and the program beginning at 9:00 a.m. The venue for this important event is the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, located at 10 Dunham Ave, Celoron, NY.
This symposium seeks to unite stakeholders, experts, and the public to share knowledge and expertise, fostering collaborative efforts for the betterment of Chautauqua Lake and its surrounding communities. The event is free and open to all. It will also be live-streamed on Chautauqua County's YouTube page, with a recording available afterward for those unable to attend in person.
