Local State of Emergency & Emergency Orders No. 1 & No. 2 Extended
MAYVILLE, N.Y. – Chautauqua County Executive Paul M. Wendel Jr. has extended the county’s State of Emergency, first issued on May 18, 2023, Emergency Order No. 1, first issued on May 18, 2023, and Emergency Order No. 2, first issued on September 29, 2023.
Incident Update from the Chautauqua County Emergency Operations Center
At approximately 9:30 AM on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, a general fire alarm was triggered at the Chautauqua County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), located at 2 Academy Street in Mayville, NY.
Following a preliminary inspection, it is believed that a malfunctioning motor in a roof heating unit caused the alarm. Emergency personnel responded promptly, and no injuries were reported.
