Public Meeting: Vineyard & Millard Fillmore Complete Streets Project

DUNKIRK, NY – The Chautauqua County Department of Planning & Develop invites community members, business owners, and stakeholders to a Public Presentation and Open House to review and provide input on the Complete Streets Conceptual Design Project for Vineyard Drive and Millard Fillmore Drive.

The event will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at Quality Inn Hotel. Community participation is key to shaping a transportation network that is safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone—whether walking, biking, driving, or using public transit.

The Complete Streets initiative aims to redesign Vineyard and Millard Fillmore Drive with a focus on safety, mobility, and equity. The conceptual design includes improvements such as enhanced pedestrian crossings, bicycle lanes, traffic calming measures, and transit-friendly features. The goal is to create a street environment that supports all users and modes of transportation.

At the Open House, attendees will:

• View conceptual design plans and illustrations
• Listen to a short project presentation
• Speak directly with project planners and engineers
• Ask questions and share feedback on the proposed improvements
• Learn about next steps and the project timeline

“This project has been a priority that our Chautauqua County Complete Streets Work Group has been developing over the past year. We are excited to unveil the preliminary concepts and hear from residents, students, and commuters who use this corridor every day,” said Rebecca Wurster, Planning Coordinator of the County’s Department of Planning & Development. “Community input helps ensure the final design reflects local needs and priorities.”
